Ruth played an instrumental role in creating the Lambeth Horticultural Society to what it is today. She was the secretary of the board of Directors in 1981, and from 1993 to 2003, editor of the Hortigram for many years, headed up and\/or was part of the activities committee (flower arranging courses), organized many bus trips, convened the Rose and Flower Show several times, was part of the Plant Sale Committee Western Fair Displays, Garden Tour Committee, Civic Plantings (and watering), and distributed the poinsettias to the local churches.\u00a0 She was on the District 10 for 2 years and received the District Service Award in 2004. Ruth also volunteered with the Ontario Farm Show, Western Fair Show Committee. Up until 15 years ago, Almut was an active member of our Society.\u00a0 She always kept busy doing he behind the scene&#8217;s tasks.\u00a0 She didn&#8217;t drive but rode her bicycle around the village to the hort. meetings &#8211; in the daylight, to the Plant Sales, Rose Show and to the grocery store.\u00a0 She taught many of us how to pleat the draping on the table skirts for the Rose and Flower Show. Liz was an active member with Lambeth Hort. She participated in many Rose &amp; Flower shows, submitting her favourite roses (she was also a member of the W. Saunders Rose Society). Liz went on every bus trip with her daughter Stephanie, helped at all the Plant Sales and also helped with auditing the treasurers books. Beloved husband of Mildred Alexander.\u00a0 Bill was a thoughtful and kind person with a cheery disposition. He was the president of the Brampton Horticultural Society. He planted many trees in Brampton and London. She was an amazing lady who was always lending a helping hand, showing up to help &#8211; just because.\u00a0 She was a life member of Lambeth Hort, where she was President from 1989-1991, helped at the setting up and putting away of many Plant Sales, Rose Shows, November Pot Luck Dinners, and at the General Meetings. Always willing to help, you would find him setting up and taking down the chairs, and last spring, handling the 50\/50 draw tickets.\u00a0 We send our deepest sympathies and prayers to his wife Doreen and their families.
